So, what kind of “disciple” is this sultry-looking woman wanting to make you? Turns out it’s a come-on for an online bar where you can, and I quote, “Get someone drunk by buying them a virtual Corona or shot of whiskey.”
Is that even possible?! (What’s the cure for a virtual hangover?) And, most of all, what’s the word “disciple” doing advertising an online bar?
It seems the world is copying Christian vocabulary to sell all kind of sacrilegious stuff (eg. Biker Jesus). Rockers from Alice in Chains to Black Sabbath to Marilyn Manson are singing about “born again.” And the Fox TV hit 24 kicks off the new season with “Redemption.”
The one thing the world can’t counterfeit, market or upload is the language of love!
Jesus said, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:34-35 NLT).
