Hi. I’m new here.

Posted September 15th @ 9:04 am by David Ker

My name is David Ker and I’m a new contributor here at Think Christian. I’m a missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators working in Mozambique, Africa. I have been a long-time reader and admirer of Think Christian and have found the “intersection of faith and culture” format to be really compelling. A couple of weeks ago I contacted Andy and Chris and told them that I’d like to be a contributor. Now, on one hand, this is madness. I have a personal blog already (Lingamish), I participate in another group blog (Better Bibles) and I’m involved in many other online publishing projects. But I was interested in the possibilities of bringing a global perspective to the mix at Think Christian. Andy and Chris were kind enough to give me a shot and so here I am.

What will I blog about on Think Christian? I’d like to highlight events and ideas coming from outside the American borders of the blogosphere. How can we in the “developed” world develop our rather “underdeveloped” global worldview? I believe that Christ’s kingdom transcends national, ethnic and linguistic boundaries but our natural ethnocentrism often hinders kingdom compassion.

Finally, I’m a father of four children who are homeschooled by their mother in whatever country we happen to be at the moment. For a sampling of my writing check out the About page at Lingamish. For a description of our ministry in Mozambique read the About page at our family blog.

Say hi in the comments and let me know what you’d like me to write about.
