If you’re at all interested in the Church in China you should make some time to watch this Frontline special Jesus in China.
From what little I know of Christianity in China, there’s a tenuous relationship between the government and the Church. And the official Chinese church isn’t quite cutting it for many in the house church movement.
I really like the range of Christians the reporter talks to: everybody from underground house church members to official church pastors. Like in the United States, there seems to be a big disagreement as to how Christianity relates to their nationality. Except when one disagrees with the party line in China they risk jail time.
Anyone have more insight into this? What did you think of the program?
