American Idol poll roundup, and a new poll!

Last week, in the wake of the much-discussed “Shout to the Lord” performance on American Idol, we asked you to tell us what you thought of it in our weekly poll. It turns out that a lot of you feel very strongly about the topic—see the massive discussion on the original post, if you dare! Here’s how you voted in the poll:

  • A huge majority—75% of the nearly 400 people who voted—thought the performance was great.
  • 6% had no opinion about the performance.
  • A mere 7% said that they hated it.
  • 12% were not sure about the whole American Idol thing. If you’ve really made it this far through life without being exposed to the show, I salute you.

So that’s enough American Idol for a while, I think. (Anyone taking bets that they’ll sing “Awesome God” this week?) Our new poll is about the Ben Stein intelligent-design film coming out this weekend: Expelled. You may have read about the various controversies it’s already sparked in atheist, academic, and creationist circles. So are you going to see it when it hits theaters this weekend? Vote in our new poll (off to the right) and share your opinion.
