Black magic poll roundup, plus: this week’s poll!

Posted April 2nd, 2008 @ 4:05 pm by Andy Rau

Last week we asked you in our poll whether or not you believed in “black magic.” 219 of you voted in the poll, and many of you participated in a great discussion about the topic. If you’re curious, here’s the poll breakdown:

  • 69%, an overwhelming majority, said that black magic is real and that it’s an active spiritual danger today. (In the post discussion, there were some good insights into examples of black magic from the Bible, and some ideas about why it isn’t as obvious in Western societies as it seems to be elsewhere in the world.)
  • 18% say there’s no such thing as black magic. The skeptics narrowly edged out the 13% who think that black magic probably exists in some form, but isn’t a serious spiritual issue today.

Thanks for voting, and a special thanks to everyone who shared their opinions in the discussion!

We’ve set up another poll for this week, this time on a much lighter topic: Do you listen to (or watch) online sermons? Sermon podcasts and Youtube videos are all the rage these days, it seems, but we’re curious how many of you actively use them. Let us know by voting in the poll off on the right side of the page!
