Somehow this managed to completely slip past me unnoticed, but the second book in Anne Rice’s series of novels about Jesus was published earlier this month. It’s called Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana, and it apparently tells the story of Jesus’ life and ministry between his baptism to the miracle at Cana.
I’m afraid to admit that I have yet to read the first novel in the series (it’s sitting at home next to a heap of other unread books on my queue for this year), so I can’t really comment on their quality. But Jan over at The View From Her seems to have liked Cana quite a bit, and has a good followup post challenging Christian apologists to be careful before condemning a story like Rice’s for taking some artistic liberties.
Anybody going to pick this one up? Anybody already read it, and care to share your thoughts?
