First reaction – surprise. Surprise to hear an evangelical talking about real action and real change rather that staus quo.
Second reaction – Amen, I agree that the state of the nation (world) depends on the intentions and actions of the church. We have seeded our God given reponsibility to the least among you to inefficient and ineffective governments and then stood back and by our inactions became complicit in the suffering and corruption by muddling and dithering. Hiding behind the separation of church and state argument only serves to negate the glorious work and future possibilities of God’s Kingdom.
Third reaction – where do I sign up.

To Jim Wallis, “God’s Politics” are the politics of the “progressive” Democratic party. He always comes across to me a tepid and uninspiring. At least the moralizing of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi make me laugh.
He has a tax exempt status precisely so he can use his funds to do the work of the Church unencumbered. If he really wants to keep Church and State separate, then he should be consistent about it!
