I don’t get it. That doesn’t look like the Christmas Story. Jesus is all grown up? And where are all the robots, lazers, and War of Man against Machine?
Also a bit disappointed it was an advert. The only real connection I can make is that Virgin is trying to link in with the Virgin birth.
Jenn: Hilarious. Bonus cool points for the late-90s pop culture reference.
Kyle: Sorry no lasers or robots, although I think Jesus does do the robot at some point. Have you been reading the gospel according to the Matrix again?
I like and enjoy some of the “rap” music. But is it just me or does anyone else out there think that this commercial is just sacrilegious or irreverent? There was really no relevant point other than to get attention for commercial gain.
Hilarious. Yeah, I didn’t like the logo either, but guess what: commercial promotion pays the bills. The editing was too pro to just be your typical non-profit project. Actually, I thought it was a cool shout-out from a commercial product (great tagline).
I was disappointed in Jesus’ dance skillz. I mean, come on, at least throw down a little! I did like how his angels preceded him.
I wonder if the Pharisees in this universe can dance. What would their responses to Jesus’ criticism be like, in the language of b-boys?
The healed cripples would break it down big time! Wiki-wiki-wiki! =)
As cultures grow and change, Christianity needs to integrate itself into trends in order to stay relevant. I think this clip shows that Christianity is able to be fun and enjoyable. What about all those breakdancing boys and girls? They probably would enjoy this movie and feel closer to God. As Creator of all, surely God is able to bust out a move when on the dance floor. And worship takes on all the form of dance. So dance on Jesus! And happy birthday!!
check out my church its all about b-boy jesus. i didnt like the logo at the end to worldly. cool props though

It was cute up until they showed that Virgin Mobile logo. It loses cool points for being a commerical.

Besides being the Lord of Lord and King of Kings, he is truly also the Lord of the Dance.

I agree with SolShine7 – it was fun until the logo came up – Seems like a weird way to advertise a mobile phone company. That part makes no sense…
