100 storefront churches in Brooklyn

Posted December 20th @ 3:27 pm by Andy Print This Post

An ambitious photographer has taken photos of 100 storefront churches in Brooklyn. Lots of really striking images. The seeming disconnect between the battered, humble storefronts and the victorious language on the church signs creates a sense of sacred space that can be felt even through the photos. Here are some of my favorites—what about you?

The photographer talks about the background of this photography project at his blog.

Years back, most of the stores were mom-pap
operations but the trend was changed to mega
    stores like Walmart, Macy’s etc.

The way of worship will be changing from mega
churches to storefront churches and house churches where more fellowship and interactions
in between the believers can be conducted.
