Does child sponsorship work?

Posted December 7th @ 8:23 pm by mikey Print This Post

Child sponsorship programs have been in place for a while now. So I imagine many of those children are now adults and have stories to tell about their experiences as a sponsored child. Our family has sponsored children for years, but we’ve never heard follow up stories.

Enter Michelle Tolentino, a former Compassion sponsored child. She told her amazing story at this fall’s National Youth Workers Conventions that Youth Specialties puts on.

I hope this encourages you – if you’re not impacted by her amazing story and sincerity than set your heart to defrost…

Awesome! I often wonder how the children I sponsored years ago are navigating through life.

One sponsorship ministry, no longer in existence, kept children in their program for a limited time. I switched to another program because it was difficult to develop a relationship when they kept giving you different kids.

Thank you for sharing that. We support a child but to be honest I hadn’t really seen the child as a person, just a sponsorship. This encourages me to be more Christ like in our relationship.
