The Fake Phase

Fake blogs (or “flogs”) is a growing trend, e.g., Fake Steve Jobs’ and Fake Mark Cuban’s blogs.

Of course, the trend is spilling over into the Christian sphere…and there’s some funny stuff there.

For instance, check out Fake Rick Warren’s blog. Here’s an excerpt:

Today, I’m proud to announce that our Church Facilities Management Specialists (known as church janitors in most ministries) have created a line of training materials for other Church Facilities Management Specialists around the country called “Serving Together By Picking Up P.I.E.C.E.S. of Garbage in 40 Hours.” The campaign is available at their website: www.SimplyGarbage.com.

Each kit includes:
– 120 Hours of DVD training
– 6 CD-Roms with downloadable resources like: how_to_get_gum_off_a_pew.pdf
– 3 Training Manuals on Church Bathroom Septic Survival Tips
– An old Ford pick-up truck
– Daily Devotional
– Key Chain with verses and room for 93 keys and a retractable chain
– Clean-up checklists for your Youth Directors after all youth events
– 1980’s pager with a loose fitting leather belt.

Campaign Kit is also available in English.

And there’s the Fake Pastors blog, featuring the likes of Fake Benny Hinn, Fake Brian McLaren, and Fake John Hagee all under one roof! Careful: There’s some mild language issues here and there. Here’s a slice from Fake John Maxwell, Laws were made to be broken:

My book, the “21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership“, has helped millions of people hone their leadership skills. However, time marches on and things change. So I have changed the Irrefutable laws. Two of the formerly irrefutable laws have been replaced with newer irrefutable laws.
