Why don’t Christians create good movies?

Why are there so few genuinely good Christian films? If you read Barbara Nicolosi’s blog, you know that’s a topic she discusses eloquently and often. Last month, she was interviewed by Frederica Mathewes-Green about the persistence of sub-par Christian movies and the troubled relationship between Christians and the entertainment industry. (To get to the Nicolosi interview, scroll down the page a bit, or click here for the MP3 audio.) It’s not all negative—towards the end of the interview, Nicolosi also talks about the ways in which this situation is changing for the better.

This subject comes up fairly often here at TC as well. Do you think Nicolosi’s analysis is correct? Does the last year’s worth of Christian or faith-friendly films give you hope that we’ll see better-quality Christian films in the future?
