Gordon Atkinson (the guy behind the Real Live Preacher blog) has written an interesting essay about Zeno and the gospel paradox. Like the situations described in Zeno’s paradoxes, the Christian calling to which the Bible calls us can look like an impossible or pointless task. But just as an athlete shouldn’t be discouraged by Zeno’s paradox about the impossible race, so too Christians will find that their faith does have meaning when we get out there and “just do it.”
