Remembering 9/11

Posted September 8th, 2006 @ 2:42 pm by James

Two small numbers: 9/11. They have become shorthand for an infinite number of emotions: the shock and disbelief of watching the terrorist attack on live TV, the horror of watching the twin towers collapse upon themselves, the national grief as the number of confirmed casualties grew to over 2,800, and the growing realization that we are no longer beyond the reach of terrorist attacks. But perhaps, most of all, they note that we will never, ever be the same.

Here is how some sites and blogs are covering the fifth anniversary:

Acts International and Radio Bible Class ask, “Where was God on 9/11?”

Catholic Online asks, “Five years later, can we forgive 9/11?”

CBN has a well done site

Christianity Today has a package of excellent articles

Crosswalk offers resources from The Presidential Prayer Team

Focus on the Family has a nice package of articles

New Avent looks at “Airplanes and Islam”

Youth Specialties offers a series of articles for teens and their leaders

And my site offers five years of commentaries on 9/11, plus a meaningful candle-lighting liturgy by my Rev. wife, as well as links to video tributes
