hi there.
my name is Renee Altson, and I’m a new contributor at Think Christian.
I’m delighted to be here, and looking forward to our future dialogue and interaction together.
I’ve been “blogging” online since November of 1997. In those days, those of us who were blogging were writing what were then called “online journals,” and they were much more personal than many of the blogs of today. We wrote what we ate for breakfast, our frustration at stoplights, and our opinions of the latest books and movies, and we were surprised that people cared. My approach to blogging in 2006 is a combination of the personal and the bigger picture. I will link to an interesting article, but I will probably also tell you what I think of it. I’d love to know what you think of it, too.
In my professional life, I’m the web content specialist and email marketing manager at Youth Specialties. I’ve been there since April of 2001. I’m also on staff (and a blogger) at Infuze Magazine and the managing editor for the Journal of Student Ministries. I’m the author of a book called Stumbling Toward Faith which was released by Zondervan in 2004. I’ve recently fulfilled my lifelong ambition to be a rock star—I wrote a poem (and recorded it!) for a piece called “American Fado” on The Procussions latest album, Five Sparrows for Two Cents.
I have a passion for faith and culture and look forward to getting to know you. Thanks for reading Think Christian.
