Internet and communications gurus have been talking about Web 2.0 for some time now, and many tools based on Web 2.0 ideas are getting widespread use—if you have Google ads on your blog, post your photos on Flickr, or read the latest news and blog posts in Bloglines, you’ve already got your feet in the water, whether you realize it or not.
So what’s that got to do with Christianity? Blogs4God has a roundup of Christian blog commentary and discussion about Web 2.0 and the way it’s already begun to change the way we talk and relate to each other online.
It’s good to see discussion about this. Christianity and evangelism is all about relationships and effective communication. While tech gurus discuss Web 2.0’s potential for relevant advertising and revolutionary marketing possibilities, there’s an opportunity here for Christians to talk about something much more important: how Web 2.0 can be used to relate to real, live human beings.
If you’re struggling to wrap your mind around the whole Web 2.0 thing, you might want to start with this post over at Blog Ministry: 5 Christian Web 2.0 services you could do—there are some great practical suggestions there that might get you thinking.
What about you? Are Web 2.0 tools already a part of your everyday life? How will Web 2.0 change your ministry, if at all?
