Amy Sullivan says no. Mitt Romney has had his sights on the oval office since his first days as Massachusetts’ Republican governor, yet Sullivan argues that, despite his social conservatism and “chiseled handsomeness,” evangelical voters will reject him as a candidate because Romney is a Mormon: “To be tolerant of Mormonism is to put evangelical Christianity at risk. And to put a Mormon in the White House would be to place a stamp of approval on that faith.” Is she right?
